Cristina Beran

Board Vice President, Board Member

Cristina Beran, President and founder of Chicago Voice and Data Authority (CVADA), is a trailblazing leader in the electrical contracting industry, recognized for her commitment to diversity, mentorship and excellence in low voltage and technology systems.

Cristina Beran is the President and founder of Chicago Voice and Data Authority, a woman owned firm, founded in November, 2015. CVADA is a certified MBE/WBE - ACDBE Union, Local 134 Electrical Contractor, specializing in all low voltage and technology systems. Her company offers seamless professional installations from bid to closeout while covering the increasing need for diversity in the marketplace.

Ms. Beran’s experience stems from the field and a family history in the electrical industry. She was born and raised in Mexico City. When arriving in the US as a kid, she went to school and grew up in Little Village, attending Gary Elementary School and Farragut High School. She is proud of her roots in Little Village, and will always consider that amazing neighborhood home.

Cristina worked hard to assemble a group of professionals that share her work ethic and dreams of building a diverse, successful, electrical firm. Her dedication to bringing quality and diversity is rather original. She ensures that the company rings true in all aspects from utilizing diverse suppliers to hiring diverse staff with what she calls Diversity360.

The CVADA workforce runs 60 – 75% minority and/or women and Chicago residents. This is critical with the new minimums not only required but critical in representing the city’s culture.

Ms. Beran is passionate about educating others to the opportunities in the construction industry and giving them a step up and into this workforce. This is dear to her heart as her path was difficult and there was little assistance available to her. She held a position at Hire360 Subcontractor Committee working to create opportunity for local Chicago residents. She advocates for, and mentors, young adults and local high school student’s sponsorship into the NECA IBEW Local 134 Apprenticeship Program. With many successfully completing and hired by her firm.

Cristina has been featured in Crain’s Chicago Business in an article regarding minority contractors and Chicago projects on the horizon. She was interviewed by 820AM for her insight on diversity in Chicago construction. She also appeared on the cover of Negocios Now and was awarded their Latina in business of the year Award 2022. As a member of HACIA she was Awarded the prestigious Contractor of the Year in 2018. She is a proud Board Member of the National Museum of Mexican Arts, and has been blessed to be a co-chair for the Yollocalli Firehouse expansion that will double the programs capacity.
