Some in this world are just meant to build. Rey Rivera, President of CSI 3000, has taken his place as one of those individuals. With over 25 years of operational experience, Rey has transformed CSI 3000 and its subsidiaries into a versatile force in the construction industry of Chicagoland. Starting his journey as a single father in a basement apartment, Rey now leads CSI 3000, an award-winning MBE civil construction company with 60+ employees and an annual revenue exceeding $40 million. Rey and his team have built a clear vision for the organization utilizing what the organization calls The CSI 3000 Way, where today CSI 3000 takes part in some of Chicagoland's most significant construction projects shaping the infrastructure of our City.
Rey and his team have received recognition for their commitment, positive economic impact, and community service efforts. Rey has held leadership positions on boards such as the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC), 18th Street Development Corporation, and the Business Leadership Council for the National Latino Education Institute (NLEI). He was a finalist for Ernst and Young's Entrepreneur of the Year, listed at Americas Top Concrete Contractors, and led CSI 3000 to be named Business of the Year by World Business Chicago. Additionally, the company has been recognized multiple times as one of the Nation's Best Contractors to work for.
As a long-time resident of the Pilsen community, Rey remains rooted in the area and actively gives back to the communities that raised him. In addition to directly advocating for small-owned businesses in the construction industry, Rey mentors other small businesses and is committed to fostering a cultural shift within the construction industry by developing an internal professional development training program available to every individual within the organization.
