Following in his father’s footsteps as a steel fabricator, Robert “Bobby” Ibarra founded Ibarra Group LLC in 2010 in the Old Schwinn bicycle factory, establishing it as a second-generation Mexican family company.

Despite initial challenges such as a shortage of capital, employees, and clients, Bobby has a clear vision for the future of his company. In 2023, the Ibarra Group purchased an 18,000 sqft building in the heart of Little Village. "I want to be 100% established in our community,” Bobby says.

Bobby is deeply committed to advocating for Latino businesses to be integral in developing their own communities, rather than outsourcing work to outside companies. “These are our communities; we should be the ones building them,” he emphasizes.
